LEVIATHAN

“The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.”

— H.P. Lovecraft

In ‘Being and Time’, Heidegger describes horror as an event that reveals to a person the emptiness and void hidden behind the superficial order and structure of life. It is not just a fear of something specific, but a deep sense of anxiety caused by the very uncertainty of being.

And when Nietzsche declared that God is dead, he left humanity facing the absurdity and meaninglessness of its existence. To ‘survive’ people have to create meaning and principles for their existence in a world devoid of predetermined meaning. But first, face the horror of realizing the unbearable weight of existence’s absurdity.

So how do you find the meaning of life if it does not exist “by default”?

What to do if everything considered significant has no meaning?

How to coexist with an all-consuming feeling of loneliness?

What is left of a person’s life and meaning if to remove all that drowns out the terrible whisper of the horror of awareness?

Leviathan observing from the viscous darkness….

*Leviathan is a colossal monster hidden in the depths of the ocean. People’s minds endowed this creature of such immense power and magnitude that it transcends mortal comprehension. It embodies the primal forces of chaos, duality, and fear.
